TIYLO

It is a well proven fact that WE are smarter than ME.  Take the TV show Who Wants to be a Millionaire.  The contestant on this show answered correctly 50% of the time.  The expert answered correctly 65% of the time.  Now, how often do you think that the random crowd answered correctly?  The random crowd was correct 91% of the time.

In other words, we realize the importance of working together with all of you from around the 1000 Islands region to determine how to best build our communities for the future—and who best to represent the future than the future itself?  Who best to represent the future of our communities than us?

These are driving forces behind the founding of TIYLO.

As an organization, TIYLO has two main purposes: to work together for the betterment of our communities in the 1000 Islands region (with a concentration on environmental sustainability) and for the personal development of the young leaders and community members who reside here.  It is our goal to provide a forum where our generation has the opportunity to play an active role in the economic and community development of the area and where we can drive the debate on issues affecting young people here.  We also hope to provide opportunities for personal development and enrichment which will also benefit our communities.

Our Mission

The TIYLO Mission Statement maintains that our organization will:

  • help our young leaders connect with other young professionals as well as the area’s top business and community leaders;
  • develop professionally through networking and skill development and personally through giving back to the community;
  • explore career opportunities and local issues and challenges, as well as their own potential;
  • understand the issues going on in their communities; contribute service and leadership to their communities;
  • empower them by strengthening their influence in their communities; attract and retain young leaders in our area; and
  • enhance the quality of life in the 1000 Islands.
