Hello fellow young professionals of TIYLO.
I’m a member of the NeXtWave North Country Young Professionals Organization – (and a good friend of Becky Walldroff for all you Walldroffs).
And I would like to give you a heads up on a couple events.
First, for any of you who might be in St. Lawrence County this evening, we are having a Happy Hour gathering at “The Club” on Court Street in Canton.
Second, I want to invite you to attend the North Country Symposium, being held next Tuesday evening and all-day Wednesday.
The North Country Symposium is an annual convening of stakeholders from across the North Country who come together with the goal of preserving and enhancing the economic, environmental and social integrity of the region. This year’s event promises to be excellent as we focus on our current North Country demographics and the importance of regional partnerships. Our keynote speaker, demographer David Brown, is Co-Director Cornell University’s Community and Rural Development Institute (CaRDI). He has worked with rural communities throughout New York State and other states to help them consider their demographics for future planning. In addition to the Keynote address, several local leaders will discuss the ways in which planning for the North Country is occurring in different areas of our economy – education, agriculture, energy, and health care. Following that, you’ll have a chance to meet in small groups to discuss their ideas and help influence future planning.
Please visit our website at http://www.northcountrysymposium.org for more information about the event, including a program overview, schedule, parking/directions, and registration forms. Then complete the registration forms included there and return it to be by email or fax.
Hope we see you at the Symposium!
